Northside Hospital Offers Speech, Hearing Tests in Johns Cree

Northside Hospital's Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology Services now offers speech/language and hearing screenings for pre-schools, day care centers and private schools in the Johns Creek and Alpharetta areas. This new service is one of many outpatient services offered at the Northside/Johns Creek Medical Office Building that have helped to meet the growing health care needs of the Johns Creek community.

The new speech/language and hearing screenings are available to children attending private schools or daycares in the Johns Creek or neighboring areas. The screenings offer a brief check of articulation (accurate production of speech sounds), language skills, vocal quality, fluency skills and hearing. With this screening, speech/language pathologists are able to tell if a child's speech/language and hearing skills are developing age appropriately or if there is a need for further evaluation. Interested schools may call Northside's Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology Services for further information or to schedule screenings to be held at their school.

In addition to the screenings, Speech/Language Pathology offers comprehensive evaluations and treatments for various speech and language disorders including articulation, receptive and expressive language, fluency, and oral/motor dysfunction, available to all pediatric groups from infants to 18 years.

Northside's Audiology Services uses state-of-the-art equipment to provide audiology services from newborns to adults, offering comprehensive evaluations of various auditory needs including basic audiology evaluations, auditory processing testing, auditory evoked potentials and infant testing and screening. The Johns Creek location is one of only a few locations in Metro Atlanta to offer auditory processing testing for all ages.
